Life transitions
Periods of transition in life — college, emerging adulthood, career changes, relationship beginnings and endings, marriage, parenthood — can bring upheaval and uncertainty, and are an opportunity for growth and perspective. I have a particular passion for helping individuals and couples navigate these moments in time.
Healing from Trauma
Difficult past experiences often have an outsize impact on our current lives, despite how much time may have passed. This can show up as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or problems in your relationships. Using a combination of talk therapy and EMDR, I help clients to understand their past experiences, develop self-compassion for where they’ve been, and interrupt the repetitive cycle that trauma often brings to our lives and relationships
Relationship challenges
I believe our relationships are the strongest vehicle in our lives for growth and self reflection. That being said, relationships of all kinds can be complicated and challenging. I specialize in helping my clients work through stressors in their partnerships, friendships, professional lives, and families of origin.
Meditation & mindfulness
My own experience with meditation has made me passionate about bringing elements of mindfulness into my work with clients. Learning to “sit with” our emotions and accept the things we cannot change helps ease our experience in the world. Whether you are a meditator or not, I believe mindfulness skills can be the bridge between the insight we can gain by talk therapy and the real, lasting change we all hope to see in our day-to-day.
